Fawn

HISTORY: In 1935 two 'Fawn' hens were trapped at Coward Springs, SA by Mr Mick Lewitska. He sent these birds to his brother, Fred, in Adelaide who developed the Fawn mutation. During the development of the Fawn he produced birds called 'smokies' (similar to the current day Dilute Blue). It is my belief that 1 or both the Fawn hens were in fact Creams; hence the appearance of ‘smokies’ during the establishment of the Fawn.
